The week of August 2, 2026 brought several measurable shifts on Algorand. x402 payments passed 160,000 total transactions, growing 30x in five days to 40,600 daily settlements. The validator set reached an all-time high of 1,537, and 90% of the ALGO supply is now in circulation.
GoPlausible launched Universal Receipts on mainnet and extended support by bringing Solana and Base Universal Receipts into the Algorand x402 facilitator. On the wallet side, Pera shipped Shared Accounts with native multisig, and Lute Wallet released v1.25.0, which adds password changes, a configurable unlock duration on the extension, and a note that native post-quantum accounts are in development.
