Algorand node v5.0.3 fixes DNSSEC validation to resolve reconnection after restart

The Algorand protocol team released node software version 5.0.3 on October 12, 2026. The patch fixes a DNSSEC validation issue that prevented nodes from bootstrapping into the network when started or restarted. The fix applies to all node types.
A pull request merged on October 14 (go-algorand #6770) describes the underlying changes. The DNSSEC resolver now validates zones that use a single DNSKEY for both DNSKEY and ordinary RRset signatures, excludes revoked keys from validation, preserves every DNSKEY sharing a 16-bit key tag during matching, rejects RSAMD5 records before key-tag calculation, and validates inception and expiration times before cryptographic verification.

Algorand releases AC2, an open standard that gives AI agent approvals a cryptographic signature
The Algorand Foundation has released AC2, an open-standard protocol for agentic commerce on Algorand. AC2 uses hardware-bound passkey approvals and cryptographic signatures to provide a verifiable audit trail for every transaction executed by an AI agent, replacing session-level tokens that are easy to phish. The protocol covers a three-step flow: a request from the agent, a single-flow payment, and on-chain settlement of the delivery proof. A companion wallet app is available for iOS and Android.
