Native post-quantum accounts deployed on Algorand mainnet
The Algorand Foundation announced the deployment of native post-quantum accounts on the network. These accounts enable transactions resilient to quantum computing-based cryptographic attacks, with support built directly into the protocol rather than layered on as an extension.
The deployment was announced on 27 August 2026 by the Foundation's official account.

Pera Wallet adds quantum-resilient accounts using the FALCON-1024 signature scheme
Pera Wallet has launched support for quantum-resilient accounts, allowing users to create new accounts or rekey existing ones using the FALCON-1024 signature scheme. This signature scheme is a post-quantum standard selected by NIST. Users must back up a specific quantum mnemonic to prevent being locked out of their accounts.
