Blockstream Research names Falcon-1024 as preferred lattice-based signature scheme for Bitcoin

Covered by 2 sources

Blockstream Research identified Falcon-1024 as its preferred lattice-based signature scheme for Bitcoin. The scheme has been live on the Algorand mainnet since 2022, first for State Proofs and now for native post-quantum accounts.

Falcon-1024 was co-invented by Algorand Chief Scientific Officer Chris Peikert. The Algorand organization noted that it was the first major public blockchain to integrate Falcon-1024 for post-quantum security.
