Post-quantum accounts using Falcon signatures go live on Algorand MainNet
Covered by 2 sources
The Algorand Foundation has activated post-quantum accounts on MainNet. These accounts use Falcon, a quantum-resistant signature scheme, to assign signing authority in a way that remains secure even as quantum computers mature. The Foundation frames the change around the 'harvest now, decrypt later' model, in which encrypted data captured today is decrypted once sufficiently powerful quantum machines become available.
The developer account @seawillpdx elaborated on this model, noting that data captured before quantum computers mature can be decrypted once those machines exist, and that Falcon signatures are designed to resist that process.

Neon Forge launches PQ Attest, anchoring 16 blockchains to Algorand using Falcon-1024 post-quantum accounts
Neon Forge Ltd has launched PQ Attest, a tool that stamps confirmed transactions from 16 blockchains onto Algorand using Falcon-1024 signatures. Each stamp is a single Algorand transaction priced at $0.001 USDC, with verification free. The project went live in September 2026, built by CompX, an established Algorand DeFi developer. It is independent of the Algorand Foundation. Native Falcon-1024 accounts have been available on MainNet since August 2026.
